In this second part of a two-part series, Freidheim looks at the ARRI Alexa LF, a lightweight, portable LF camera designed for low-light shoots, and the Arri Alexa, a professional high-resolution medium format camera that comes in two flavors: a very small, handheld variant called the Alexa Mini, and the larger, fixed lens version known as the Alexa 65. Freidheim also shares some thoughts about the future of high-resolution camera technology, the benefits of using film in the field, and how to use boom mics effectively for cinematographers and directors. LeVar Burton is a television icon, the man who won an Emmy and three Peabody awards as host of Reading Rainbow and the multi-hyphenate behind The Reading People, a popular public-television show. His career has spanned television, film, advertising, publishing and a smattering of less conventional ventures. Among those unconventional ventures: Starting in 2004, Burton worked with video-game developer Electronic Arts to write a series of stories for television, culminating in a pilot episode of a video-game-based story. As part of the plan, Burton had a screenplay about the character “Sly Cooper” written, and he even auditioned for the role of the title character in the short-lived 2009 television series The Sly Cooper Show.
